Regarding Cohost...

In November 2023, we moved to Cohost as a result of all the significant shifts going on with Twitter, or X as it’s called now. Sadly, our time on Cohost will eventually come to an end.

On September 9, 2024, Cohost will be shutting down at the end of the year. Reasons cited for the closure are lack of funding and burnout. According to the financial updates, the site hasn’t even been profitable (not to mention the site only had four employees). With Eggbux, their tipping and subscription product, they hoped to generate more money, but Stripe policy changes forced them to terminate earlier this year.

Since then, they have battled to close the income and morale gap while maintaining staff levels in moderation, engineering, and general operations almost to the point of exhaustion. They also believed that creating other financing possibilities was impractical due to the demands of maintaining the site on a daily basis.

As a result, we have moved to both Instagram Threads and Bluesky Social. Our Cohost page will remain up until December 31, 2024, which is the planned date that Cohost will go fully offline.
